How to play Settlers?

Team Formation: Settlers is played from 2 teams against each other, each consisting of 2 to 6 players.
Cost: Play from €9.50 per person when you have 6 people in one team.
Flexibility: Play whenever and wherever you want.
Getting Started: Receive the instructions, download the app, and begin your adventure.
Gameplay: In the app you will see a map with the starting point surrounded by hexagonal tiles, reminiscent of the board game. You'll also see other teams' villages, banks, and cathedrals.
Objectives: Build roads, villages, and cities; collect necessary resources. Strengthen your settlement, plunder other cities and collect the most points.
Bonus Points: Earn extra points by completing fun photo challenges.
Tactic: Success in this game requires more than just speed. Strategy, cunning, and smart actions are key.

FAQ Settlers

How many people play in one team?

We recommend playing in teams of 2 to 6 people.

Why do you play with at least 2 teams?

In Settlers, the goal is to compete for the largest settlement and the most points. You can only face off against each other when playing with at least two teams.

Where can you play Settlers?

Settlers can be played in any city, town, or neighbourhood of your choice. Make sure that the location is larger than 5000 m2 and consists of multiple streets. A forest is unsuitable due to low mobile coverage.

When ordering, you can enter your preferred location. For example you choose Amsterdam? Then we will set the game in the city center by default. Would you prefer a different location in Amsterdam? No problem! Mention it under ‘Location’ in the order notes, and we’ll arrange it! Feel free to contact us by e-mail or telephone!

What's the playing time of Settlers?

Settlers last 90 minutes by default. Want to play longer? Call or email us before you start, and we’ll extend the time. We offer this service for free!

What do we need to play?

Per team you need one charged smartphone with mobile internet (4G/5G) and your GPS location must enabled. Install the free app in advance via the App Store or Google Play, you will receive the link together with your unique game code in the confirmation email.

Important: Turn WiFi off and mobile data on otherwise the game will not work properly.

And don’t forget: a good sense of humor and at least one puzzle genius in your team help!

Until when is the game code valid?

Your game time will only start when you press start. Until then, your game code is still valid.

What if we experience technical issues during the game?

It is very rare that someone experiences technical problems. First check if you have turned off your WiFi and your mobile data and GPS location on your phone!

Should everyone have played the Catan board game?

No, it's not necessary for everyone to have played the board game before. However, we do recommend having at least one team member who is familiar with the game for the best experience.

In which languages can you play Settlers?

Settlers is available in Dutch and English!
