Frequently Asked Questions

How many people play in one team?

We recommend teams of 2 to 6 players. Smaller teams ensure that everyone can actively participate. Collaboration and teamwork will help you get closer to the solution!

How many teams can play?

That answer depends on the game. The Hunt and Settlers are played from 2 teams. Escape the City and Sherlock can be started from 1 team. There is no limit to the total number of teams!

How long does a city game last?

Our city games are 90 minutes long by default. Want to play longer? Call or email us before you start, and we’ll extend the time. We offer this service for free! Impossible Mission has an extra final game, so total time is 120 min.

Can you really play the game anywhere?

Yes! City Adventures games can be played in any city, town or neighbourhood of your choice.
Make sure that the location is larger than 5000 m2 and consists of multiple streets. A forest is unsuitable due to low mobile coverage.

When ordering, you can enter your preferred location. For example you choose Amsterdam? Then we will set the game in the city center by default. Would you prefer a different location in Amsterdam? No problem! Mention it under ‘Location’ in the order notes, and we’ll arrange it! Feel free to contact us by e-mail or telephone!

What do we need to start the game?

Per team you need one charged smartphone with mobile internet (4G/5G) and your GPS location must enabled. Install the free app in advance via the App Store or Google Play, you will receive the link together with your unique game code in the confirmation email.

Important: Turn WiFi off and mobile data on! Otherwise the game will not work properly. You need a minimum of 20 MB and a maximum of 50 MB data per game. Mobile hotspots don’t work, because the GPS will not function correctly.

And don’t forget: a good sense of humor and at least one puzzle genius in your team help!

Yes! Your unique game code lets you play whenever you want. The game only starts when you press "Start" in the app.

How much does a city game cost?

You can play a city game from €9.50 per person. The price is €57 per team of 2 to 6 people. You will receive an email with your unique game code, the instructions and a digital manual. Do you want to receive a physical game package at home? Then you pay a surcharge of €27,- sending in NL or BE. (only available for Escape the City and The Hunt)

In which languages can you play City Adventures games?

You can play the citygames in Dutch or in English!

What is the recommended age for the games?

1. Escape the City & Sherlock: 14+
2. Escape the City and Sherlock junior: 10+ without adult guidance, younger kids with adult guidance
3. The Hunt: Suitable for all ages. Children under 10 play with adult guidance.
Impossible Mission: Suitable for ages 12 and up with adult guidance and ages 14 and up without adult guidance.
4. Settlers & Impossible Mission: 10+ with adult guidance and 14+ without adult guidance.

What is a city game?

A city game is an original team building activity, full of brain teasers and virtual challenges played through our free app. You play with a group of people in a city or village of your choice.
Through the various interactive game elements you come to streets that you would otherwise never come to. This way you discover the city in a playful and new way and you get to know each other better!

What if we experience technical issues during the game?

It is very rare that someone experiences technical problems. First check if you have turned off your WiFi and your mobile data and GPS location on your phone!
